Help Lindsay Find Love!

Who hasn't thought, what is wrong with Lindsay Lohan? I would say I am mostly celebrity-sympathetic and I am slow to believe most of the outrageous rumors that are spread daily on the web and in magazines, but it has been hard to watch what looks like the slow demise of Lindsay's career and sanity. When I stumbled upon this video at funnyordie.com, I was ecstatic! The girl has a sense of humor, and I love it. I have to admit I am a die-hard Lindsay fan, from Parent Trap all the way to Mean Girls and Georgia Rule, and this video makes me love her even more. Sure she has her problems, but don't we all? How many of you would be able to jokingly ridicule yourself like that?

Guilty Pleasure Beach Read!

I have to confess that once and a while even I get tired of reading fashion and beauty magazines (I know, it's just ludicrous!). On one such kick, I picked this book, The Little Lady Agency, up from the store when I was craving a flirty, fantasy, girly read. On page one I met Melissa, a curvy, smart, English beauty who is too nice for her own good but is the quintessential "every-girl" that anyone can relate to. Along with meeting Melissa's crazier-than-yours family and her friends, we meet her alter-ego, Honey, and her high-powered American crush, Jonathon.
Once I started reading it, I couldn't wait for a free moment to read more of this adorable novel (on my lunchbreak, on the treadmill, at 1 in the morning)! Even better, there are two more installments to The Little Lady Agency series, The Little Lady Agency in the Big Apple, and The Little Lady Agency and The Prince. These books and their predecessor are a great read for whenever you feel the need to step out of your life and into someone else's for a little while. And if that other person is a lovable, funny English brunette with an appetite and a fiery, sexy alter-ego, then what's not to love?

Body by Glamour

After almost having a heart-attack in the grocery store when I saw who was on the cover of Glamour magazine this month (It's Miley!) I was even more excited after reading about Glamour's new online health and weight loss tool, Body By Glamour. With weight loss and exercise pros like Jillian Micheals (Her 30 day shred video changed the entire way I work out!) and celebrity trainer Ramona Braganza (Helped Jessica Alba lose the baby weight), it's impossible not to benefit from this amazing program. I was also impressed by their free (yes, free!) MP3 downloadable workouts (finally put that new ipod to good use!). And for those who prefer the visual instruction of a video, download videos at exercisetv.tv ranging from $0 to $5.00. I joined Body By Glamour today as a pre-summer resolution, and I resolve to stick to the food and exercise log. Join and follow me on Glamour.com!
Speaking of swimsuits, this month's Glamour has tons and tons of pics of the most gorgeous (and figure flattering! Really, it does!) swimsuits, featuring celebrities and real women, and a beautiful spread with Crystal Renn (check out her profile on nymag.com).

Beauty Review: Make Up For Ever HD Microfinish Powder

If anyone else is a Sephora beauty insider like me (if you aren't, become one now!), then you know that for ever dollar you spend you earn a point towards deluxe samples. I spend so much on beauty products that I can't even keep up with the free samples! But, we can talk about that later. What I am obsessed with right now is my newest beauty splurge: Make Up For Ever HD Microfinish Powder (HD High Definition Powder Kit, Microfinish Powder + Super Soft Kabuki Brush, $49, Sephora.com- use this code -3SJ9HQ- to get free shipping on orders over $25 until 7/31/09 ).
I became enamored with this product after playing around at Sephora, browsing and trying things out. I jokingly put the powder on, thinking it would be shimmery or clownish, but, to my surprise, I found my face veiled in the sheerest, softest powder finish. Right away I noticed the light hitting my face differently, creating the illusion of more defined and higher cheekbones. But the real shock came after seeing a picture my friend had taken of me; My face looked flawless! Granted, I am blessed with great skin and am the type to rarely have a blemish, but I still have a few scars post-high school acne and some blackheads here and there, but the result was truly amazing. Unfortunately, after that night, I couldnt remember what it was called!
On a following trip to
Sephora with my mom, describing what I had tried to the salesgirl, she directed me to the Make Up For Ever section, where I rediscovered this magic, soft-focus powder. Sephora.com boasts that it "softens the appearance of imperfections, sets foundation, and mattifies the skin without changing its natural contours" and I can conform this 100 percent. Although I use it alone without foundation, it makes my skin look beautiful and glowing and it is the only thing I have used so far that can actually control my oily T-zone. Even after a day at the zoo walking around in the sun, I was still fresh and matte, and even my 6X zoom digital camera can attest to that!
